Florida Family Vacations is my blog about travel in and around Orlando Florida. It's about the theme parks - Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and all the smaller places of interest too. It's about traveling with families and saving money! These are the notes I use to put in my travel book "The Mom's Miserly Guide:Disney, Universal, Sea World on $25 a Day!"

Universal Studios Mardi Gras!

The Most Miserly Mom loves Mardi Gras - especially when it just goes on and on like it does at Universal STudios!

What I love most are the concerts that Universal Studios offers. This weekend, February 24, Taylor Hicks will be there. Next weekend Wynonna will be there. The Doobie Brothers, The Temptations, and more all offer great concerts at Universal Studios.

The beads, the Cajun music, the floats, the costumes, and the music, all come alive during Universal Studios Mardi Gras. It is truly an awesome time - and one that This Miserly Mom recommends for fun!

Disney World, Epcot Flower and Garden Festival!

The Most Miserly Mom loves music! And Disney and Epcot let us enjoy the beauty of flowers and the beauty of music at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.

This festival always amazes me with the abundance of fragances, gorgeous flowers, topiaries, and of course the music I love most.

This year you can enjoy Paul Revere and The Raiders, Petula Clark, Davy Jones, Tony Orlando & more! Music from the 1960's and the 1970's will rock you through the gardens of Epcot.

The Festival will run all through April and May. For specific dates and more information check out this site: disneyworld.com/flowerandgarden.

Disney for Spring Break?

The Most Miserly Mom is pleased to report that we have sunny skies here in Orlando and Disney World and a high of 74 degrees today! With most of "The Great White North" covered in that cold white stuff, I think most of you must be looking forward to Spring Break down here in Sunny Florida.

Many of you may choose to visit the water parks at Disney - either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. I love both of them and visit them numerous times a year with my boys. We always bring a picnic lunch to save money, parking is free, and we have a full day of fun.

Both parks are good for children of all ages by the way.

Don't forget your sunscreen!

Universal Studios Cheap Tickets!

The Most Miserly Mom has been away on her own sojourn to Mexico, so I have been lacking in my blogging duties. But alas I am back and on the job!

The first thing I have found is a great deal on Universal Studios tickets -- and this is a Miserly deal!

Universal offers an online ticket deal of $85.99 (this is for adults and children). This price entitles you to 7 days unlimited admission to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Universal's City Walk. The days must be consecutive and include the first day of purchase. Now that is one Miserly deal! And there is so much to see and do at Universal Studios and Islands of adventure.

If you are a roller coaster enthusiast you Must grab this deal!
